Details

Castle
Wildly romantic, surrounded by 460 acres of beautiful, picture-perfect surroundings; getting married in this historic castle really is a fairy-tale come true. Dating back to the 1300's, the castle is steeped in Scottish Baronial history, having been owned by the Maitland family, the Stewarts and most recently, the Duke and Duchess of Hamilton who, in 2006, began an extensive renovation project to bring life back to the House. The luxurious, private accommodation, which has 11 bedrooms for you and your guests to enjoy, blends state-of-the-art facilities with centuries old architectural features. You and your guests will enjoy exclusive access to the castle's historic rooms throughout the day. For drinks before the wedding breakfast, enjoy the beautiful Yellow Room, Blue Room and Stewart Room before moving through to the 14th century undercroft for your wedding ceremony. Entertain your guests with dinner then dancing in the Great Hall complete with vaulted ceiling and magnificent fireplace. As the day draws to a close, one of Castle's unique treasures for newly married couples to experience on their wedding night is a 16th century bed that Mary Queen of Scots reputedly slept in.

Civil Partnership
In Scotland, Civil Partnerships are weddings specifically designed for same sex couples, giving them all the same privileges and protections as heterosexuals. Civil partnerships are open to visitors to Scotland and we will happily guide you through the legal process required to celebrate your gay wedding in a beautiful Scottish castle.

Food
Our award-winning specialist chefs will ensure your wedding is catered to the highest of standards. They are passionate about developing ever more appetising menus and understand just how important it is to create and present exquisite food. The secret to their creations lies in using the seasons' freshest and most flavoursome ingredients earning them an enviable reputation for creativity and culinary excellence.

Accommodation
Included in the fabulous scotland package is overnight accommodation for you and all 50 of your guests on the night of the wedding. You and your partner, along with 20 of your friends and family will stay in the castle itself. Another 30 guests will be accommodated in 4 star, luxury guest houses in the nearby village.

Kilts
Make your Celtic experience complete with the option of wearing full highland dress. We will guide you through the traditions and etiquette of wearing the kilt, making sure your outfit is measured and fitted correctly, even helping you get dressed on the day if required!

The night before
Relax, with overnight accommodation in Scotland's most stylish hotel. Designed to provide a calming and elegant mood, this delightful Georgian mansion is the perfect place for you and your partner to relax before the big day.

Stylist and make-up artist
Love Scotland's fully qualified and experienced stylist and beautician will be on hand to make sure you look fabulous for your wedding day.

Photography
Driven by creativity and passion, knowing when to be discreet, fade into the background, take control of family groups, or put the shyest of people at their ease, our photographer aims to create beautiful and compelling images. Your wedding photographs will reflect the romance of your day which you can treasure together for years to come.

Flowers
Flowers are an essential part of every wedding and our award winning florist creates outstandingly beautiful arrangements. Whether you know exactly what you are looking for or need inspiration, we will create stunning designs with fresh flowers to compliment your style and highlight the outstanding castle venue.

Music
To make the day memorable from the start, our Pipe Major will greet guests with a lively set of pipe tunes as they arrive for the wedding ceremony. The couple will be greeted (and nerves settled) before being piped in to the ceremony. The piper can play the newly married couple back down the aisle, pipe as guests are leaving, and provide a few tunes while pictures are being taken. Your ceremony will be accompanied by one of our excellent musicians, with a wide choice from pianist, to harpists to vocalists, there is something that is just right for you. We will provide a modern, funky Ceilidh Band for your evening entertainment. Complete with a caller of the dances, to keep your dance floor in order and to ensure your guests get the most out of this unique Scottish experience! With a disco to finish the evening and keep your guests dancing away into the wee small hours.

Cake
We are lucky enough to work with Scotland's leading cake designer. By producing outstandingly different, expertly designed cakes to the highest quality, they are taking cake design to a whole new level. With stunningly creative ideas and first-rate finishing techniques, they will be delighted to create the perfect cake just for you.

Favours
Choose from a selection of small Scottish gifts to give your guests as a unique keepsake of an unforgettable event. From the traditional favours of a miniature bottle of single malt whisky, or delicious highland tablet to a more contemporary treat of exquisite chocolates presented in chic, stylish packaging.

Transfers
We will welcome you and your partner at either Glasgow or Edinburgh airport with a big smile and a chilled glass of champagne to begin the celebrations! We'll then whisk you off to your beautiful hotel right in the heart of the city. A chauffeur driven limousine will take you and your partner to the castle on the morning of the wedding then return you either to the city or the airport the following day. Any guests staying overnight in the nearby village will be offered luxury coach transportation, the small distance to their hotel from the castle, once the festivities have come to a close.

Event Management
Love Scotland will be with you throughout the whole process of planning and realising your fabulous Scottish wedding. Giving you a single point of contact, we will manage and take responsibility for every aspect of your day. Your dedicated event manager will guide you through all the details and will be there on the day to make sure everything goes smoothly.
