will I see Nessie?

If the tour you select takes you along the shores of Loch Ness, you may be in for a rare treat!

The world famous Nessiteras rhombopteryx, or Loch Ness Monster, lives in the dark and murky waters of the loch at depths of up to 750ft. With plenty of places to hide in the loch's network of underwater caves and channels, she can be an elusive wee beastie. While hi-tech sonar surveys and round the clock web-cams have failed to come up with any conclusive evidence, close encounters are not unheard of. The original media frenzy began in 1933 when Mrs Aldie Mackay's sighting of a whale-like creature in the loch was reported in the Inverness Courier. The following month, a Mr and Mrs Spicer of London experienced a notorious on-land encounter when a 30ft, grey, long-necked entity crossed the road ahead of them before slipping quickly into the water. Some years later, in 1961, thirty hotel guests watched as a pair of humps broke the water's surface and cruised for around half a mile before diving back into the depths!

So you might just be lucky. Take your binoculars, have your camera at the ready and watch out for 30ft monsters crossing the road in front of your car!
