Loch Ness Monster
A trip to the banks of Loch Ness will most definitely give you the chance to investigate some impressive castle ruins, as well as providing spectacular views of the loch. As for spotting the elusive beastie herself, we make no guarantees, but you just never know...
Skye
Visitors to the Isle of Skye find it hard to believe they will find one of Scotland's very best restaurants in such a remote place. But when they step inside the door to the candlelit interior with its thick stone walls, original fireplaces and low, beamed ceilings, they know that they have found somewhere worth making the journey to. A recent review by the revered restaurant critic, Frank Bruni, of the New York Times, described it as "the French Laundry of Scotland" with reference to California's renowned eatery. Although dishes are creative, modern and exciting in concept, they often have a traditional twist associated with Scotland's amazing culinary heritage. Prime white fish and shellfish of every kind sparkling fresh from the cold, clear waters that surround Skye's rocky shore; a wonderful selection of vegetables, salad leaves, herbs, mushrooms and soft fruits from the island's working crofts and gardens; Skye lamb and Highland beef naturally reared and grazed in the island's glens, as well as wild venison from the high hills; these are all regular features on the daily changing menu. Handmade cheeses, free-range eggs, dairy products and locally made tablet and chocolates are also used alongside the wonderful selection of breads, oatcakes and traditional bakery made every day in the kitchen.
Glen Coe
Catch the ferry back to the mainland to embark on the journey south past the mountain grandeur and the deep gorges and waterfalls of Glen Coe. Site of the ruthless 17th century massacre, Scotland's most famous glen is wild and atmospheric in any weather.
Trossachs
On now to your luxury boutique hotel in the beautiful Trossachs. Depending on availability and your preference, join in on some foraging on the estate, or a cookery demonstration with the passionate resident chefs.
This outstanding, family run accommodation offers a genuinely warm welcome and exquisite, award winning food. Head chef and owner will provide a true gastronomic experience using slow ingredients. Meat is from their farm - Highland beef, sweet lamb, wild venison and Tamworth pork. Greens are from their kitchen garden, wild mushrooms and garlic amongst other hedgerow delights will find their way to your plate from the glen.
Glasgow
